How to treat a painful Stye and the best way to get rid of it, quickly!
Almost all of us have experienced a stye; a small, painful lump on your eyelid that creeps up on us every once in a while and causes extreme irritation until it disappears. Styes can be uncomfortable and terribly annoying, and even if you take good care of your eyes you can still be prone to them, especially if you suffer from Blepharitis.
Caused by a blockage in your oil glands from the bacteria on your skin – usually staphylococci bacteria – styes can clear up on their own within 1 or 2 weeks, but they may need a helping hand along the way to clear them up quicker than this.
The Eye Doctor Antibacterial Stye Relief Compress launched earlier this year which was created to relieve the swelling, redness and stinging sensations that come with having a stye. Designed as a unique single-eye mask featuring Sterileyes®, the Stye Relief Compress is for fast-acting relief whilst still giving you the ability to carry on with your daily life. Once applied to the infected eye, the moist heat generated in the microwave relaxes away a variety of conditions and irritations in 7 to 10 minutes. You are required to massage the upper eyelid in a downward fashion to apply pressure from the eyebrow to the eyelashes. For the lower lid, slide your finger upwards towards the eyelashes of your lower lid. Wipe clean with the eyelid wipes included in your treatment pack and results can be seen as quickly as the next day!*
As well as treating Styes, this compress is also a clinically proven treatment for MGD, Blepharitis, Chalazion and Dry Eye Disease.
To prevents styes making an appearance in the future we would advise the following:
- Only touch your eyes with clean hands
- Disinfect your contact lenses
- Don’t leave makeup on overnight
- Throw away eye makeup (such as mascara and eyeliner) 3 months after opening
- Start to introduce a daily eyecare regime: heat + cleanse + revive using an Eye Doctor hot eye compress, Eye Doctor Lid Wipes and Eye Doctor Intensive Relief Eye Drops
*Results may vary from person to person
